    Job Summary:

    The AVP of Emerging Technologies will play a crucial role in driving innovation and technological advancements within our organization. This position will identify, evaluate, and implement cutting-edge technologies that can enhance business operations and create new opportunities. As the leader, the role will be responsible for staying abreast of the latest trends and developments in the tech industry, such as artificial intelligence, Quantum computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT). By leveraging these emerging technologies, the lead will focus on improved efficiency, reduce costs, and provide a competitive edge for the company with investment justification and supporting tangible proof points and metrics. Additionally, this role requires close collaboration with various departments, including Strategy, Marketing, Actuarial, and Claims at all TMNAS supported group companies to ensure seamless integration and alignment with the organization's strategic goals.

     

    Moreover, the AVP of Emerging Technologies will focus on risk management and regulatory compliance. As new technologies are adopted at an unprecedented pace, it is essential to understand and mitigate the associated risks. This involves working with industry peers, regulators, and technology providers to establish common standards for risk communication and disclosures. The role may also introduce warning labels for technologies to provide transparency about potential risks, similar to other regulated industry's approach to risk management. By adopting a holistic ecosystem approach, the lead ensures that the organization can effectively manage liabilities and risks while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

    Essential Job Functions:

    + Technology Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for identifying and adopting emerging technologies that align with the company's business goals and objectives

    + Innovation Leadership: Lead a team of technologists and innovators, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement

    + Research and Evaluation: Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in the tech industry, conducting thorough research and evaluation of new technologies to determine their potential impact on the business

    + Implementation and Integration: Oversee the implementation and integration of new technologies, ensuring they are seamlessly incorporated into existing systems and processes

    + Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, and product development, to ensure alignment and successful execution of technology initiatives

    + Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the adoption of new technologies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards

    + Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate the value and impact of emerging technologies to senior leadership and other key stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress and outcomes

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred

    + Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a focus on emerging technologies and innovation

    + Must have delivered an enterprise scale AI solution or multiple smaller scale AI solutions to production

    + Technical Skills: Strong understanding of emerging technologies such as AI, , IoT, and their applications in business

    + Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of technologists and innovators, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement

    + Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate the potential impact of new technologies on the business

    + Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

    + Project Management: Experience in managing large-scale technology projects, with a track record of successful implementation and integration

    + Master’s degree preferred

    + Ability to weigh business needs against security concerns and articulate to management

    + Knowledge of organizational politics and political tactics; ability to effectively navigate formal and informal communication and decision-making channels

    + Knowledge, insight, and understanding of business concepts and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations

    + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel preferred

    + Ability to write business requirements and functional specifications

    + Strong customer service orientation toward Business Units requires financial consultation (responsive, consultative, collaborative and accurate)

    + Strong leadership ability; able to work with a group to set its objectives and agenda, generate allegiance to those objectives, and guide and motivate achievement

    + Strong project management skills: Plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of resources, to achieve project objectives and deadlines

    + Strong interpersonal relationship building skills: able to work with a variety of people and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner

    + Strong analytical ability with the capability to determine the root cause of problems and issues and provide solutions

    + Strategic thinking: Applies organizational acumen to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization

    + Superior attention to detail

    + Ability to juggle multiple, competing, frequently changing time-sensitive deadlines and priorities

    + Ability to work independently and without supervision

    + Ability to work and lead effectively as part of a team

    Additional Information:

    + This position will require occasional travel to industry conferences, technology summits, and other events to stay current with the latest trends and developments in the tech industry

    + The leader of the Emerging Technologies Group will report directly to the VP of Emerging Tech & Automation and will be a key member of the technology leadership team

     

    Salary range $160,000 to $180,000 . Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location. Our company offers a competitive benefits package and bonus eligibility on top of base.
