General Manager – Component Solutions Organization (CSO)

Tektronix’ Component Solutions Organization Business Unit (CSO) is an ITAR-qualified business that provides manufacturing and engineering design services for complex electronic components and modules. CSO consists of 250 talented employees spanning all functional disciplines, including Engineering, Operations, and Sales. The CSO General Manager has direct responsibility for Sales/Business Development, Engineering, and Operations—including Supply Chain and Quality—ensuring cross-functional alignment and execution across the business.

Ready to take full P&L ownership and lead a high-impact team? In this role, you’ll guide the CSO organization across all business functions, driving annual and long-term financial goals. You’ll have five direct reports, including key department heads and senior managers, ensuring streamlined communication and efficient decision-making. You’ll be responsible for shaping and executing the CSO’s vision in alignment with Tektronix’s broader strategy, uncovering new business opportunities, fueling top-line growth, and ensuring strong customer satisfaction. As an influential leader, you will inspire a culture of transparency, collaboration, quality, and compliance while developing talent and delivering exceptional results.

    Responsibilities:

+ Drive performance across core value drivers including revenue growth, margin expansion (OMX), working capital (WC), quality, employee experience, retention, and on-time delivery (OTD).

+ Develop and execute a clear, approved vision and growth strategy aligned to Tektronix’s enterprise goals, ensuring cross-functional coordination and alignment.

+ Own full P&L and balance sheet responsibility, making balanced investment decisions to fuel both short- and long-term growth (e.g., innovation, Value Engineering, sustainment).

+ Lead a high-performing team of Senior Managers and Directors, strengthening organizational capabilities through talent development, career velocity, and RBS-driven engagement.

+ Foster a customer-centric culture by regularly engaging with current and prospective customers to identify improvement areas and growth opportunities.

+ Use daily management and Ralliant Business System (RBS) fundamentals—rooted in continuous improvement and lean methodologies—to deliver on operational and financial commitments by defining clear expectations and driving team accountability.

+ Ensure streamlined communication and effective decision-making across the organization by clearly connecting CSO objectives to the broader Tektronix strategy.

+ Uphold and model corporate values, serving as a visible example of leadership excellence through deliberate communication, people development, and consistent policy execution.

+ Oversee the preparation and presentation of business reports, budgets, and updates to internal and external executive stakeholders.

+ Attract, retain, and develop top talent while ensuring a fair, equitable, and high-performing culture supported by strong administrative processes.

    Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical field required; MBA or advanced business degree strongly preferred.

+ Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in a technical or industrial environment, with a strong record of success leading >$100M businesses.

+ Proven P&L leadership across multiple functions, ideally including sales, business development, and/or key account management.

+ Strong business acumen with deep technical fluency; experience in the Semiconductor Test industry or adjacent industrial technology sectors is a plus.

+ Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence through kaizen, root cause analysis, problem solving, and application of Ralliant Business System (RBS) or similar continuous improvement frameworks.

+ Skilled in leading through influence across complex organizations—building trust, aligning teams, and de-escalating high-risk customer situations to achieve win-win outcomes.

+ Strategic thinker with the ability to simplify complexity, balance short-term execution with long-term vision, and align teams to a clear set of priorities.

+ Strong people leader with a track record of developing high-performing teams, promoting talent, and building inclusive, resilient cultures grounded in trust and accountability.

+ High learning agility, intellectual horsepower, and grit; thrives in fast-paced, high-change environments with a bias for action and continuous improvement.

+ Executive presence and credibility to represent the business with customers, senior leaders, and external stakeholders.
