About EOCF: Educational Opportunities for Children and Families (EOCF) is committed to supporting children and families through developmentally appropriate early learning programs. We believe in empowering staff and equipping classrooms to ensure every child thrives.
Position Summary: The Child Support Specialist works directly with teaching staff to support children who may have special needs or display challenging behaviors. This position involves regular site visits, collaboration with classroom teams, and providing guidance around behavioral supports and individual education plans. Please note: This position is tied to a specific grant, with funding committed through June 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Support the implementation of developmentally appropriate early childhood practices.
+ Assist classrooms with children who have complex developmental or medical needs.
+ Provide strategies and direct support for children with IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) or IFSPs (Individualized Family Service Plans).
+ Apply Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) principles to classroom settings.
+ Make recommendations to classroom staff regarding behavioral or developmental concerns.
+ Use computer programs for documentation, data entry, and communication.
+ Travel daily to multiple EOCF classroom sites (requires reliable transportation) .
Required Qualifications:
+ Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
+ Experience working in a classroom setting with children ages 3-5.
+ Familiarity with early childhood behavior strategies and support tools.
+ Experience supporting children with special needs and/or behavioral challenges.
Preferred Experience:
+ Two or more years of experience working with children who have developmental delays or behavioral needs.
+ Knowledge of IEP/IFSP processes and implementation.
Additional Requirements:
+ Reliable transportation for travel between sites.
+ Ability to work both independently and with teams.
+ Proficiency in using software tools for reporting and communication.
Compensation/Schedule: This position follows a school-year schedule and is budgeted for 40 hours per week, working Monday through Friday during daytime hours. The starting wage and maximum budgeted wage are: $21.80 - $22.93 per hour based on experience and qualifications
