    This is a great opportunity to join our Commercial Vehicle Service as a Fleet Service Mechanic!

    WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

    + Minimum 3 years' experience light- to heavy-duty vehicle repair.

    + Valid driver license with an insurable driver's record.

    + Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

    Diagnose and repair autos and ambulances under minimal supervision. Troubleshoot and repair engines, fuel injection systems, diesel engines, on-board computer systems, diagnostic procedures, driveline, steering & suspension, electrical troubleshooting, AC, and perform diagnostic services using electronic test equipment. Assist other Technicians as needed and other duties as assigned. Must comply with all Safety and EPA procedures and remain abreast of current technology, diagnostic procedures, and industry standards.

    Pay range - $31-$35 per hour with hand tools

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    + Performs preventative maintenance & safety inspections and repairs for gasoline & diesel engine motor vehicles.

    + Operates equipment such as electric hoists, electronic diagnostic equipment, and vehicles with either automatic or manual transmissions.

    + Documents vehicle repairs on the computer and write, read, and interpret repair orders. Must be able to read and interpret repair and training manuals.

    + Troubleshoots, diagnoses & repairs vehicles in accordance with specified protocol and procedure.

    + Accurately records time, equipment & supplies associated with vehicle repairs on a computer and submits timely to Office Manager for billing purposes.

    + Communicates regularly with Shop manager & Office manager to provide information about schedules, assignments and to receive special instructions.

    + Assists and/or guides other technicians as specifically assigned.

    + Follows established Company policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety environmental control standards.

    + Routinely inspects all equipment to ensure serviceability and compliance with safety regulations and standards are met.

    + Test drives vehicles to assure accurate repairs accomplished.

    TRAINING & EDUCATION:

    The individual in this position must possess the following education requirements:

    + High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

    + Valid & current California Driver License and insurable by Hall Commercial Vehicle Service, Inc. driver's insurance policy.

Hall Critical Care Transport provides regional ground and air interfacility transport solutions extending from San Diego to Sacramento.

    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.     The individual in this position must possess the following qualifications:

    + Ability to accomplish quality repairs safely and consistently.

    + Skill in service and repair of gasoline and diesel motor vehicles using standard practices and procedures.

    + Minimum 3 years proven experience on light- to heavy-duty vehicle repair on Ford, Chevrolet and GMC, including: A/C, power steering, hydraulic brakes, computerized diagnostics and electrical.

    + Knowledge in GM Duramax and Ford Powerstroke engines is a plus.

    + Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

    + Ability to react calmly and effectively with professional demeanor in all situations.

    + Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification preferred, or should be prepared to achieve ASE Certification.

    + Ability to provide own hand tools necessary for vehicle maintenance & repair work.

    + Strong electrical troubleshooting skills preferred.

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    + Lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds.

    + Stand and walk for long periods of time.

    + Frequent pushing, pulling, reaching, kneeling, squatting, and climbing.
