**The role youll contribute:** _Provides direct and indirect services in the acute care, inpatient, and/or outpatient rehabilitation settings, offering evaluation, development of care plans, and treatment for patients with bodily impairments and functional limitations as medically prescribed. Utilizes process improvement strategies to achieve the goals of the Rehabilitation Department and adheres to all rules and regulations of applicable local, state, and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies. Responsibilities may include supervision of Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, technical aides, volunteers, and interns while actively participating in outstanding customer service and maintaining respectful relationships with all. The role encompasses evaluating and treating individuals whose ability to perform daily functional tasks is threatened or impaired by various factors, employing therapeutic goal-directed activities, physical modalities, exercises, and patient/family education/training to facilitate adaptation, productivity, and restore or maximize functional skills and independence. This includes direct involvement with a range of patient care activities, including assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and documentation, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate functional progress and discharge planning. The Physical Therapist also contributes to departmental operations, performance improvement activities, budget formulation, and compliance with infection control, safety, and fire safety programs. This role demands personal accountability to the organizational mission and core values, with a commitment to providing care that is reflective of the physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs of the patient.._
The value youll bring to the team:
+ Performs evaluations and re-evaluations according to standards and recommended techniques. Establishes, implements and adapts an individualized treatment plan of care (including appropriate goal setting, treatment activities and frequency). Discharges patients when maximum benefit has been achieved and/or according to standards of practice and payer guidelines.
+ Documents accurately, completely, and timely with legible handwriting. Uses measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policy and procedures.
+ Charges patient accurately, timely, and legibly according to guidelines of the CPT code format and following insurance guidelines.
+ Identifies the need for patient/caregiver education and utilizes each opportunity for teaching on a planned or spontaneous basis, including discharge recommendations. Documents education and understanding, as appropriate.
+ Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed** **:
**Minimum qualifications** :
Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy and five or more years of work experience in physical therapy, **_OR_**
Masters or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
Licensed in the State of Florida as a Physical Therapist, OR Temporary State of Florida permit as Physical Therapist*
BLS Certificate
