Job Description:
The DHS CBP Program Management Office Directorate (PMOD) serves as the Independent Test Authority (ITA) for CBP acquisition programs and requires comprehensive systems engineering and test and evaluation (T&E) support. SimIS seeks a Data Collector/Analyst responsible for collecting, validating, and analyzing test data from border security systems across diverse operational environments. This role combines field data collection activities with sophisticated statistical analysis to support evidence-based recommendations for technology deployment and system optimization. The position requires expertise in data collection methodologies, statistical analysis, and the ability to work in challenging field conditions while maintaining data integrity and quality.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related analytical field
+ Minimum 3 years of data collection and analysis experience, preferably in field testing environments
+ Ability to obtain and maintain DHS suitability background check
+ Ability to work in challenging field conditions across diverse terrains
+ Ability to travel to remote border locations for extended periods
+ 25% travel required
Technical Skills :
+ Statistical analysis software proficiency (R, SPSS, SAS, or equivalent)
+ Data visualization and reporting tools expertise
+ Understanding of surveillance system data types and formats
+ Knowledge of data collection methodologies and quality assurance
+ Experience with database management and data repository systems
Key Responsibilities
+ Collect and validate test data in operational settings across diverse border environments
+ Develop innovative data collection methods for surveillance and detection systems
+ Perform rigorous statistical analysis of test results and systems performance data
+ Create data collection plans and procedures for field test events
+ Maintain comprehensive technical data repository with monthly updates
+ Generate data analysis reports and visualizations for stakeholder consumption
+ Support trade study analysis with quantitative data and statistical insights
+ Ensure data quality and integrity throughout collection and analysis processes
+ Document data collection procedures and maintain quality control standards
+ Provide analytical support for performance metrics and system evaluation
+ Support continuous process improvement through data-driven recommendations
+ Coordinate with test teams to ensure proper data collection during field operations
