Summary:
Through executive leadership, operational policies and procedures and staff, leads and directs all aspects of the organization, to assure its success and position within the healthcare and business community.
Responsibilities:
1. Through executive leadership, operational policies and procedures and staff, leads and directs all aspects of the organization, to assure its success and position within the healthcare and business community. Participates in all aspects of the organization's operations to assure leadership standards and expectations are met; demonstrates appropriate decision-making and judgment to guide organization to achieve its stated goals and objectives. Provides guidance, direction, instruction, and appropriate authorization to staff so that programs and services are designed and delivered consistent with established policies and Board approval. Maintains appropriate accountabilities and expectations of direct reporting and executive staff to assure organizational, team, and individual performance standards are met.
2. Oversees, monitors, and responds to the adequacy and soundness of the organization's financial structure.
3. Reviews operating results of the organization, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate results are achieved as desired. Responsible for the development and attainment of overall standards of quality.
4. Maintains an effective Medical Staff to meet the needs of the patients served.
5. Oversees the development and success of fund raising activities. Provides effective public relations programs to insure integration of the organization into the community. Participates in community development and socially responsible activities to influence progress and insure continued regional growth and success.
6. Assures that an effective system of communication is established, utilized and maintained throughout the organization.
7. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring operations, programs, and physical properties.
8. Leading People - Leads people toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals. Provides an inclusive workplace that fosters the development of others, facilitates cooperation and teamwork, and supports constructive resolution of conflicts. Encourages workforce engagement by building a commitment to excellence and by promoting the organization's vision internally and externally. Fosters a culture of safe and compassionate patient care. Makes well-informed, timely decisions, even when data are limited or solutions produce unfavorable results. Positions the organization for success by identifying new opportunities and builds the organization by developing and improving services. Leads the budgeting process. Uses cost-benefit thinking to set priorities, monitors expenditures in support of programs and policies, and identifies cost-effective approaches.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
• Requires Bachelor’s degree. Master's degree is preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
• No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
• Requires a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience, with at least ten (10) years of management experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
• Solves complex problems that may have a long-term impact on the business function/line of business. Develops innovative ideas and solutions with significance to the organization’s future. Identifies problem areas and skill gaps proactively and addresses them appropriately. Excellent project management and change management skills for designing and implementing Entity, Triangle, or System initiatives in a complex environment.
