    Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for providing Neurological Diagnostics procedures in all patient care areas including NCS/EMG. Assess diagnostics needs of patients and works under medical supervision operating sophisticated medical equipment.

     

    + Recognizes clinically significant events and follows facility policy and procedures regarding critical test results

    + Communicates appropriately and effectively with the patient to convey the purpose of the NCS and answers questions regarding the test as well as with higher level personnel

    + Performs standard and complex electroencephalographic recordings

    + Keeps equipment in a clean operating condition. Troubleshoots and repairs minor malfunctions in the equipment. Initiates repair of malfunctioning equipment

    + Transports patients, maintaining safety and comfort

    + Practices strict ethical enforcement of protected medical and employee confidentiality

    + Authorized to make entries in the medical record, consistent with and limited to the scope of the job duties and any applicable licensure

    Qualifications

    Licenses & Certifications

    + BLS through American Heart Association certification is required upon hire

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    + Knowledgeable and skilled in EMG/NCS diagnostic testing

    + Excellent and frequent reading, verbal and written communication skills

    + Ability to delegate

    + Conflict resolution skills

    + Ability to interact in individual or group settings

    + Excellent time management skills

    + Sound critical thinking and stress management skills

    + Incumbents must possess knowledge of how to provide care to a diverse population of patients and the ability to communicate and work with people from a variety of age-groups, social strata and ethnic backgrounds

    Pay Range

    $20.62 - $28.35 /hour
