Responsibilities

The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct care for patients with advanced heart failure and/or pulmonary hypertension to include but not limited to proficiency in mechanical circulatory support devices under the direct supervision of the advanced heart failure physician.

The Opportunity:

+ PRN weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday)

+ 7am - 7pm shift

+ 1 - 2 weekends per month

+ Obtain medical histories when necessary.

+ Perform physical exams (within established protocol).

+ Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines).

+ Order diagnostic tests.

+ Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines).

+ Provide preventive health screenings and immunizations for adults.

+ Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.

+ Assure charts are signed off by the doctor within 24 hours and/or according to hospital protocol.

+ Maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality.

+ Make follow up calls to check patients progress.

+ Assist doctors with phone coverage and hospital rounds.

+ Work closely with other nurses to assure patient flow is efficient.

+ Consult with doctor regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment.

Qualifications

+ Master's degree or higher in nursing and/or equivalent

+ 3-5 years clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting required.

+ 1-3 years previous experience as a NP in an acute care setting or equivalent RN experience in ICU or CVICU

+ Certified Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Associate

+ **Acute care certification required**

+ Licensed as a RN and APRN

+ BLS required (BLS-CPR)

+ ACLS required

Pay Range

$56.12 - $58.88 /hour
