This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team tasked with the very important responsibility of keeping the public safe thru the management of Predatory Offender Registration.
This position is eligible to telework up to two (2) days per week.
This full-time permanent position is responsible for collecting, maintaining and disseminating complete, accurate and timely adult and juvenile Predatory Offender Registration (POR) information for individuals meeting registration requirements for Minnesota, Out-of State and Federal offenses. This position serves as a subject matter expert in the area of POR information and works with all facets of the criminal justice system to ensure that state statutes, as well as other federal, out-of-state, local rules and policies are applied appropriately to provide the most comprehensive picture of an individual's POR record.
This position is responsible for providing expertise, troubleshooting issues, and for understanding the technical nature of the POR Unit to be able to assist all our clientele. This position reports POR Unit needs for the most efficient processes to the supervisor. This position is responsible for training new POR staff and current POR staff with system changes. This position will also provide training to our external partners system updates. This position works closely with the supervisor and MNIT Technical Team to determine system needs and improvements to the 2-3 POR systems, as well as being the subject matter expert for the POR Unit staff system needs.

Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years of experience working with the criminal justice system and related business processes for law enforcement, prosecution, probation, courts and corrections. * A bachelor's degree related to criminal justice may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Work experience to include the following:
+ Lead work or project management
+ Knowledge of legal criminal justice terminology
+ Knowledge of POR unit and requirements
+ Interpreting and reviewing criminal histories and court documentation
+ Conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis
+ Manage conflict, handle stressful situations, put customers at ease and deal effectively with irate clients
+ Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Advanced degree related to criminal justice or legal.
+ Experience working in the POR unit.
+ Experience training new employees.
+ Experience interpreting Minnesota statutes.
+ Good problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively organize work.
+ Strong written and oral communications skills to sufficiently communicate with co-workers, clients/clientele and the general public through email, written and phone interactions.
+ Team leadership skills.
Physical Requirements
Light: Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others, and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
