Then join our dynamic 7E unit, where our dedicated staff collaborates as a team to provide exceptional care to patients dealing with medical and cardiac issues. On 7E you will be working with chest tubes, tracheostomies, pain management, diabetic management, Insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis, IV antibiotics etc.
+ Number of beds: 23
+ Patient Population & Typical Diagnoses: Heart failure, COPD, GI Bleed (Gastrointestinal Bleeding), Pneumonia, Chest Tubes Management, Urinary Tract Infections, Electrolyte Imbalance Liver/Kidney Disease, etc.
+ Targeted Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4

RN Clinician Educator Regarded as clinical expert and role model in application of the nursing process and evidence-based practice to manage the complex care needs of specific patient populations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Collaboration
1. Serves as a resource person to physicians, nurses, patients, and family members.
2. Applies principles of adult learning to plan and conduct educational sessions to promote staff development, student competence, and positive patient/family outcomes.
3. Role models expert communication skills to colleagues through example.
4. Demonstrates foresight regarding the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes based on intuition and experience.
5. Is recognized as an expert clinician and a leader within their area of specialty.
6. Completes employee conference, risk management and unit management reports within specified time frames.
7. Identifies the need for revision and evaluates the effectiveness of operational forms.
8. Provides and coordinates the resources needed within the unit to provide optimal patient outcomes.
9. Role models time management skills through example.
10. Ensures compliance and adherence with stated policies and procedures for the unit.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education / Experience:
+ Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
+ 2 years of recent nursing experience AND a minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of concentration.
Licensure:
+ A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
Certification:
1. BLS certification
2. ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire
3. Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty
4. Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty
5. Must complete UNE criteria requirements within nine (9) months of promotion or hire, including completion of Enhancing your Communication HLC#6488. PLAN:
6. Meets all Clinical Nurse I Employee Commitments.
7. Completion of VIP or EBP Project.
8. Achieves points/electives and contact hours as defined in the PLAN (clinical lattice) point system to maintain position.
9. Completion of formal preceptor training workshop.
Preferred Qualifications / Education:
1. MSN or DNP Certification: Nursing certification preferred
