Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Provides planning, consulting, directing and oversight of corporate tax accounting and reporting for BJC HealthCare and affiliated organizations. Responsible for planning, preparation and review of all corporate income, property, sales, use, informational and other returns for federal and state tax compliance, as well as monitoring all corporate activities that would impact tax issues.

Responsibilities

+ Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.

+ Coordinates the completion of schedules and financial analyses needed for hospital audit procedures with independent auditors, internal auditors and regulatory (tax) auditors.

+ Develops and maintains appropriate tax policies and procedures, including monitoring all corporate activities that would impact tax issues.

+ Coordinates compliance with all tax requirements for continued maintenance of tax-exempt status.

+ Oversees the complete and accurate filing of tax returns.

+ Performs reviews of financial statement elements and consolidated financial reporting.
