    Job Summary and Qualifications

     

    The Phlebotomist Lead is responsible for providing patient testing and associated clerical work on neonate, infant, toddler, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The Lead Phlebotomist ensures adequate supplies, proper training of new personnel. The Phlebotomist Lead performs phlebotomy/blood collections, organizes and coordinates employees in their charge. The Phlebotomist Lead evaluates employees according to their job description, counsels’ employees, ensures that adequate competent staff is available to meet the needs of the department, ensures collections are performed in a timely manner, ensures accrediting agencies guidelines are followed, enforces safety and infection control policies, coordinates QA and Process Improvement activities in collaboration with the Laboratory Leadership team.

    + **Ensures accuracy and completeness of work performed.**

    + **Follows hospital policy and procedure in performing job functions, skills and tasks.**

    + **Willing to adjust personal schedule in cases of workload fluctuations or other departmental needs.**

    + **When the assigned work is complete, it seeks additional tasks to be done.**

    + **Perform well in stress and emergency situations, demonstrating effective coping skills.**

    + **Follows through with assignments and informs supervisor if unable to complete task.**

    What qualifications you will need:

    + Basic Cardiac Life Support
