    Job Title: Water Meter Retrofit Technician

    Start Date: Currently

    Compensation: $8.00 per completed meter + $2/day per diem ($1 food, $1 fuel)

     

    Project Duration: Until ~2,700 meters are completed (Full-Time, Temporary)

    Project Summary:

    Join a specialized team upgrading 2,700 residential water meters in Wrightsville Beach, NC. Technicians will retrofit SENSUS iPERL meters with Badger endpoints to enable drive-by AMR readings. This is a highly organized, high-performance opportunity rewarding efficiency and accuracy.

    Pay & Incentives:

    + $8.00 per completed retrofit (typical daily range: 30–50 meters)

    + $2/day per diem ($1 food, $1 fuel)

    + Fuel reimbursement for initial travel to hotel

    + Hotel lodging provided (2 per room)

    Schedule & Location Details:

    + Mandatory training: Monday, June 16, 2025, 9AM–12PM in Wilmington, NC

    + Daily start: 7:00–7:30 AM on Wrightsville Beach Island

    + No weekend/holiday restrictions – work as much as daylight allows

    + Project site is a compact 1.4 square mile beach community with walkable meter routes

    Job Duties Include:

    + Reprogram SENSUS meters using Unipro and Surface tablet

    + Remove old endpoints and install Badger endpoints

    + Activate using IR cable and Orion utility

    + Capture photos and log meter details (serial, GPS, readings, barcodes) in VUSS

    + Maintain neat, professional work area and accurate documentation

    + Transport, protect, and return equipment daily (value $2,500+)

    Requirements:

    + Tech-savvy with ability to use tablets, GPS, and software tools

    + Physically able to carry equipment, remove sand/debris, and work outdoors

    + Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

    + Must bring safety vest, uniform, clean vehicle with signs

    + Badges required for training day and fieldwork

    Equipment Provided:

    + Tablet, Unipro, IR cable, Nicor adapters, tools, safety gear

    + Endpoints and materials issued daily and returned at shift end
