Duties Description Position Characteristics: Perform all duties in the Forensic Video Multimedia Services Unit (FVMSU) Video Production Section, Photography Section, and Audiovisual Support Section. Specific duties will include all the duties of the Audiovisual Production Specialist, in addition to, but not limited to:DUTIESStudio/Field Multimedia Productions: Perform the pre-production and production phases of creating multimedia projects. Duties include pre-production meetings, script writing, lighting, audio, computer teleprompting, and videography. Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of professional camera systems is required. Postproduction: Perform the postproduction process (editing) of Division multimedia projects using digital video editing systems. Working knowledge and expertise with Avid Technologies, Apple applications, and Adobe Creative Suites is required. Working knowledge and expertise with multimedia encoding formats will also be required.Photography: Perform photography assignments throughout the state using professional digital camera platforms, image processing using professional dry lab and printing systems, print processing using professional mounting, matting, and framing equipment, and graphics production using professional multimedia software. Working knowledge and expertise with all software in the Adobe Creative Suites, Apple applications, and Microsoft applications is required. Audiovisual Support: Perform multimedia support in training and public relations events held at the NYSP Academy and venues across the state. Tasks include, supplying instructors, presenters, and staff with appropriate audiovisual equipment and operating a variety of audiovisual equipment during seminars, teleconferences, press conferences, and other events held across the state. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with this equipment is essential. Multimedia Archiving and Duplications: Perform the process of multimedia duplications and archiving. Knowledge and expertise in duplication systems and archiving applications will be required. Packaging, distribution, backup, and archiving will be performed. Forensic Multimedia Support: Under the direction of the Director and/or Manager of the FVMSU, assist video documentation of criminal and civil events throughout the state, assist Multimedia Forensic Analysts in Comparative analysis and 3D Photogrammetry/Reverse Projection testing, assist in the duplication of analog and digital evidence and assist in the photography of analog and digital evidence.Perform such other duties as directed by the Director and/or Manager.

Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of competitive or non-competitive service as an Audiovisual Production Specialist, Photographer 3, Graphic Designer 1 or Audiovisual Training and Production Specialist. ORBachelor's degree with concentration in video, television or film production, web interface design, graphic design, communications design, or a closely related technology field AND two (2) years of experience in a related technology field, producing multimedia programming projects using elements of production, or graphic design for web. Minimum qualifications must be met by the closing date of the posting.
