Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based in Nashville, Tennessee, and offers the opportunity to work on a variety of accounting functions, including tax preparation and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and a passion for ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial processes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

• Manage sales tax filings and payments, keeping accurate records for reporting purposes.

• Record and review journal entries to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure consistency and resolve any discrepancies.

• Utilize accounting software, such as QuickBooks and Sage Intacct, to process transactions and generate reports.

• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of financial statements.

• Conduct regular reviews of financial data to identify trends, errors, or opportunities for improvement.

• Collaborate with team members to support audits and respond to inquiries from external stakeholders. Requirements • Proven experience in preparing and filing corporate tax returns.

• Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting requirements.

• Proficiency in recording journal entries and maintaining general ledger accuracy.

• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage Intacct.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.

• Solid understanding of month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
