Description We are looking for an experienced Chief Public Strategies Officer to lead strategic initiatives in fundraising, donor relations, and public engagement for a dynamic non-profit organization in Houston, Texas. This key leadership role requires vision, creativity, and a proven ability to drive results that align with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cultivating donor networks, managing marketing strategies, and fostering community partnerships.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a strategic blueprint for fundraising, marketing, and engagement initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Design and execute annual and long-term fundraising plans, including major gifts, grant applications, planned giving, and special events.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners to achieve annual fundraising targets exceeding $8-10M.
• Lead and mentor a team of 10 professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
• Oversee public relations and marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and foster community engagement across various channels.
• Build partnerships with volunteers, government entities, and other organizations to amplify outreach and engagement efforts.
• Coordinate and manage special fundraising events to maximize donor involvement and revenue generation.
• Utilize donor management software to track contributions, analyze trends, and optimize fundraising strategies. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising, development, or similar roles, requiring attention to detail.
• At least 5 years of leadership or management experience, demonstrating effective team oversight.
• Proven ability to cultivate major gifts and manage donor networks to raise $8-10M annually.
• Proficiency in donor management software, such as Raiser's Edge.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including delivering compelling presentations.
• Demonstrated expertise in organizing successful fundraising events.
• Exceptional relationship-building and networking abilities, particularly in donor and sponsor cultivation. Innovation starts with people.®
