Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis in Dallas, Texas. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a supportive team and handle diverse tax preparation responsibilities. If you have a strong background in tax preparation and enjoy collaborating with leadership and mentoring less experienced staff, this position is ideal for you.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, S-Corporations, and a limited number of C-Corporations.
• Organize workloads, review initial drafts, and ensure timely completion of all tasks.
• Assist with quarterly tax planning and calculations of estimated payments.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to refine tax processes and support team efficiency.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff, fostering their growth and development.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and maintain accuracy in all filings.
• Utilize accounting software systems such as CCH ProSystem Fx and Drake Tax Software for tax preparation and reporting.
• Support the development of streamlined internal procedures for reviewing and completing tax work.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and providing solutions.
• Manage data entry and ensure proper handling of deductible allowances and other financial details. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation for various entity types, including individuals and businesses.
• Proficiency with accounting software systems such as CCH ProSystem Fx, Drake Tax Software, and ADP Financial Services.
• Strong understanding of accounting functions, including deductible allowances and sales tax.
• Demonstrated ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in tax preparation and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with clients and team members.
• Ability to mentor and guide less experienced staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Familiarity with quarterly tax planning and estimating payments.
