Senior Underwriting Assistant

•Key responsibilities:
+ Partner with regional underwriters and/or more senior UW Support employees in the end-to-end processing of new and renewal business.
+ Evaluate new and renewal submissions against prescribed criteria to determine completeness; documents outstanding items and include them in communication to an underwriter for review. Assist in the follow-up and securing of outstanding items from the broker.
+ Identify and resolve account alerts and blocks during the submission process to avoid account conflicts.
+ Perform data analytics, remodeling, when necessary, referral documentation preparation and completion, as well as form checklist and working approval.
+ Exhibit a customer service mindset by proactively engaging with internal and external clients; promptly responding to all phone calls and/or email correspondence.
+ Consistently meet service levels agreements and metrics in terms of volume, accuracy, and quality.
+ Assist with training and oversight of less experienced support staff
What we're looking for
+ 2+ years of related insurance experience, preferably in underwriting or similar role sand/or training, or an equivalent relevant combination of education and experience.
+ The ability to work closely with underwriters and CoE partners to develop and deliver tailored solutions.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Power Point.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
+ A pro-active, solutions-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
