Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Stillwater, Minnesota. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in financial accounting and a passion for implementing efficient processes and controls. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate across departments, analyze complex accounting issues, and contribute to the financial success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with internal procedures.
• Conduct monthly reviews to analyze variances, address discrepancies, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Take ownership of complex accounting issues, providing thorough analysis and solutions.
• Collaborate with various departments to streamline processes and ensure accurate expense tracking.
• Research and resolve financial discrepancies promptly while suggesting future process enhancements.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members by sharing expertise and answering questions.
• Effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with finance team members and external stakeholders.
• Build strong partnerships with stakeholders to achieve project objectives and financial goals. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial accounting, including knowledge of inventory, financial reporting, month-end close procedures, foreign currencies, and payroll.
• At least two years of experience in public accounting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP principles and reporting standards.
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel for financial management and analysis.
• Demonstrated expertise in preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements.
• Background in manufacturing accounting is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage complex accounting processes and adapt to a dynamic environment.
