Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Castroville, California. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a vital role in supporting the accounting department with data entry, accounts payable, and general administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational accounting knowledge who is eager to grow in a supportive office environment.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately input financial data into accounting systems and maintain organized records.

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice management and payment tracking.

• Support the accounting team during a system implementation by ensuring timely and accurate data handling.

• Perform basic bookkeeping tasks to support departmental operations.

• Utilize software tools such as Excel, Word, and Sage to manage and analyze financial information.

• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.

• Adapt to changing duties as needed and demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic work environment.

• Follow through on assigned tasks with a goal-oriented and proactive approach.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all accounting activities. Requirements • At least one year of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.

• Proficiency in basic Excel functions and formulas.

• Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Strong data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

• Experience using accounting software such as Sage or QuickBooks.

• Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and procedures.

• Self-starter with excellent follow-through and organizational skills.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting is a plus.
