Grifols Diagnostic Solutions in Emeryville, CA is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its Diagnostics Business Unit. The Senior Financial Analyst is a key contributor to the Diagnostics Business Unit and is based in Emeryville, CA. This position directly supports the planning, analysis and management reporting of operating financial results. This includes the periodic estimates, annual budget, strategic planning, monthly management reporting and business case support.
Duties:
+ Own month-end closing activities (calculating and processing of accruals, allocations, adjustments) to ensure accurate financial results and associated monthly financial statements and other operational reports.
+ Function as key business partner analyzing variances, generating forward-looking data to support actionable analytics in a timely manner.
+ Drive continuous improvement, implementation and general maintenance of the planning systems and forward-looking processes to support management decisions.
+ Promote the dissemination of best practices regarding SOX and internal controls (ensuring compliance of corporate policies and accounting standards)
+ Participate in special projects (for example IT/SAP projects) and process improvements.
+ Autonomously interact with executives in the Senior Leadership Team and participate in cross divisional / functional teams utilizing outstanding system proficiency, very strong analytical skills and attention to detail, and strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Financial Planning Processes:
+ Coordinate (with supervisory guidance) processes including period-end closing and reporting, forecasts and annual budgets.
+ Consolidate and prepare management reporting packages that track and monitor ongoing business performance, including operational expenses and Profit Center / Management Area performance
+ Organize and prepare business cases as needed; working cross functionally to compile salient data points, and contributing to appropriate risk/benefit assessments.
+ Build strong relationships, establish credibility with business partners, and disseminate finance knowledge.
+ Ensure accurate and timely information in order to submit accruals as required by the month end closing process.
+ Prepare financial analysis for Senior Management including regular and ad hoc requests; e.g. functional deep dives, inclusive of analysis and recommendations, productivity initiatives
+ Identify opportunity to further improve the effectiveness and efficiency in financial planning process
+ Support process improvement projects to drive functional excellence
Financial Systems:
+ Develops subject matter expertise for financial systems (BI, SAP, Material Ledger and Actual Costing).
+ Leverage existing systems such as SAP and BI in regions / global functions to further automate the reporting and process
+ Contribute to the development and automation of financial reporting tools using SAP, BW, and Excel/Pwp.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Solid financial skills
+ Good understanding of end-to-end process and controls
+ Ability to deeply understand the financial terms of contracts (eg: Vendor agreements, PO commitments, Supply Agreements)
+ ERP software experience (preferably SAP, BI)
+ Experience developing and using Excel-based models and conducting quantitative analysis (NPV, IRR)
+ Solid analytical and quantitative skills and ability to design analysis plans using multiple internal and external data sources
+ Strong organizational skills
+ Life Sciences industry preferred
+ Interest to deeply understand the business needs and provide contribution to resolve problems / provide solutions in line to Finance requirements
+ Strong interpersonal and team skills a must
Education
BS in Finance or higher; proven experience in lieu of BS is accepted
Experience
Minimum 5 years Finance or Accounting experience
Pay Scale
The estimated pay scale for this Senior Financial Analyst role based in Emeryville, CA, is $109,505 to $136,880 per year. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 8% of the company bonus pool. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity and market data.
