Description

We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial records and reports for multiple properties while ensuring accuracy and compliance. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic financial services environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial data for inclusion in accounting reports and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and proper journal entries in the general ledger.

• Review invoices, expenses, and other financial documents to resolve discrepancies and ensure correct coding of revenues and expenditures.

• Conduct bank reconciliations for various accounts including multi-property, inter-company, and multi-family accounts.

• Monitor revenue and expenditure trends, recommend budget adjustments, and assist in maintaining accounting control procedures.

• Serve as a point of contact for tenant auditors by providing detailed explanations of journal entries and financial transactions.

• Assist in preparing operating expense reconciliations and forecasting future years’ operating expenses, including reviewing vendor reconciliation files and updating tenant ledgers.

• Develop and evaluate cash flow forecasts for existing properties, management companies, and potential acquisitions.

• Collaborate with on-site personnel and property managers to address inquiries and ensure timely completion of accounting tasks.

• Create financial reports and analyses, and perform administrative duties as required.

• Work with management to deliver comprehensive analyses of project financial performance.

Requirements • Proven experience in property accounting, preferably within the financial services industry.

• Proficiency in Yardi software for property management and accounting tasks.

• Strong knowledge of month-end closing processes and accrual accounting principles.

• Expertise in managing general ledger entries and reconciliations.

• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance.

• Effective communication skills to liaise with auditors, property managers, and other stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
