We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)to lead our EHS initiatives and ensure compliance with local, regional, and international regulations. This role is essential for promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across operations crafting a safe working environment throughout the organization. The right candidate will have a solid foundation in EHS management, planning, and a dedication to sustainability!
How You’ll Make an Impact
+ Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures specific to compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies, ensuring all energy practices meet safety standards and guidelines.
+ Develop a regional EHS strategy that aligns with Siemens Energy’s business objectives and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with global EHS teams to share industry standard processes and foster a unified safety culture.
+ Conduct site specific safety risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards related to installations and work environment. Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies and emergency response plans.
+ Lead investigations of EHS incidents and near misses, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and follow-up actions and plans to prevent recurrence. Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement on workplace safety and environmental performance.
+ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, to promote EHS initiatives and ensure compliance. Drive sustainability initiatives and best practices to minimize environmental impact and promote resource efficiency.
+ Lead and mentor the EHS team, promoting professional growth and a collaborative work environment. Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies regarding EHS matters. Foster employee engagement in EHS initiatives through workshops, town halls, safety meetings, and safety campaigns or initiatives.
What You Bring
+ Profound familiarity with EHS regulations and standards. Proven experience in managing compliance and safety culture in a relevant industry such as energy, manufacturing, construction, or utilities.
+ Excellent communication - verbal and written – and interpersonal skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
+ Experience in managing crises or emergencies related to environmental health and safety incidents, including coordination with local authorities and regulatory agencies.
+ Professional certifications (e.g. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), or ISO 14001/45001 Certification or Lead Auditor status highly desirable
+ Bachelor's degree in related field or minimum of 8-12 years of experience in EHS regulations or leadership role, preferably in the energy sector.
+ Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
