Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking an Laundry Lead to join our Environmental Services Department!
This position is responsible for providing clean linen for the medical center and ancillary buildings. Maintains and updates knowledge of equipment and supplies used in the laundering process. Must maintain knowledge of department and medical center policies and procedures. In addition to performing the duties of a laundry technician, this position will have several additional responsibilities as directed by the EVS Manager. Provide training for new-hire laundry staff. Complete daily poundage sheet, time study sheet, and cleaning sheets and turn into EVS Manager as required. Provide an oversight of laundry supplies and back-up linen volumes and report to manager any ordering needs. Provide quality checks of used linen and replace over-used, stained, or damaged linen with new supply as needed. Oversee coverage replacement for laundry staff out sick or on vacation. Collaborate with EVS Manager on deep cleaning tasks in laundry department and oversee the completion and charting.
Major Job Duties & Responsibilities
Sorts linen appropriately.
Weighs soiled linen and records weight in log.
Loads washers and programs appropriately for linen type, weight and soil level.
Transfers washed linens, to dryers and dries appropriately.
Folds linen properly and neatly.
Distributes linen to the appropriate areas of the medical center as scheduled.
Cleans laundry area and equipment at the end of each shift.
Completes the assigned Healthstream annual education courses on time.
Maintains utility and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.
Uses chemicals appropriately.
Refills all necessary supplies and dispensers as required.
Utilizes attendance system per organizational and departmental guidelines.
Cleans medical center areas and linen storage as scheduled.
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
Knowledge of commercial linen cleaners and equipment preferred.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions, including basic computer use.
Must meet all local health regulation requirements including a criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
Current Montana state driver's license.
Schedule
Based on the needs of the department.
Education Requirements
High School Education or equivalent.
Experience
Previous medical center housekeeping experience required, including knowledge of infection control.
Prior surgery housekeeping experience preferred.
