Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Description
The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in our accounting and finance team, assisting the Sr. Accountant in managing the daily operations of our expanding business. This position offers exposure to all daily finance and accounting procedures and principles.
Responsibilities
+ Own the entire Accounts Payable process, including receiving, coding, and processing invoices and expense reports into the accounting system using NetSuite and Expensify.
+ Process and reconcile corporate credit card statements.
+ Manage vendor relationships in ERP and issue 1099 forms.
+ Contribute to the monthly close process, including bank account reconciliations.
+ Prepare service, retail, and e-commerce revenue & COGS.
+ Handle accruals and prepaid expense entries.
+ Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly compliance for the business, including sales and use tax filings, annual report filing, and renewing property location licenses.
+ Manage the Finance Inbox.
+ Maintain schedules to support monthly financial reports.
+ Assist with annual audit preparation.
+ Compile data to assist in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting results to leadership.
+ Participate in ad hoc projects as requested by leadership.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant.
+ Proficiency in NetSuite.
+ Experience with billing systems such as Expensify, Tipalti, or Invoice2Go.
+ Strong Excel skills.
+ Positive, growth mindset.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with month-end close processes.
+ Knowledge of financial reporting.
+ Understanding of revenue recognition and cost of goods sold.
Work Environment
The office is located in Faneuil Hall, Boston, and requires on-site presence five days a week. The workspace is modern and conveniently situated within walking distance to various bars and restaurants, providing a vibrant work environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
