    *The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Nursing (SON)* is currently recruiting for an *Academic Support Services Coordinator. *The Coordinator is responsible for the administrative support of the academic programs for the Office of the Academic Deans SON. The Office of the Academic Deans drives the academic mission of the school by coordinating all programs in the school including the BSN, RN-to-BSN, MS, DNP and PHD programs. The Academic Services Coordinator works independently, exercises appreciable latitude, and knows and applies practices and procedures in support of these programs. The SON Office of the Academic Deans collaborates with other departments within SON, the Graduate School, and other UMB departments, providing a critical support structure for all students in the school. The academic affairs managed by the office include curriculum development and implementation, coordination of admissions processes and support, ensuring the integrity of each student's academic experience to include monitoring student progress, assisting with securing financial support, translating policies and procedures, and supporting the academic deans all related to student success. *Benefits: Exempt Regular * UMB offers acomprehensive benefits packagethat prioritizes wellness, work/life balance, and professional development, along withadditional exciting perksthat employees can take advantage of. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland*. *PRIMARY DUTIES:* * Supports administrative activities and various daily operations of academic programs with interrelated activities of other programs, departments, or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications. * Provides general information and facilities inquiries and responses for technical advice, problem-solving assistance, and policy interpretation to students, faculty, academic deans, and others. Supports improvement and communication of essential information about academic programs such as admission requirements, academic policies, and general program content. * Assists in the compilation and editing of content for periodic reports, grant/program proposals, promotional materials, journal articles, financial statements and records on academic program activities, progress, status or other special reports. * Assist in the evaluation of program performance and progress toward program objectives to analyze results and make programmatic recommendations to ensure attainment of program deliverables. * Collect data on student progression, program evaluation, and compliance through interface with multiple web-accessible databases and electronic archiving systems. Assist with analysis of collected data. Assist with development, tracking, and reporting methods to monitor student and academic program activities as necessary. * Provide administrative support: communication of general information to students and faculty, compilation of responses to queries, report preparation, and citation assistance for journal publications. * Enhance student experience by arranging extracurricular seminars, study sessions, or workshops. * Assists in the development, compilation, and written materials for program coursework communications and promotional literature for distribution, such as newsletters, brochures, or flyers. * Assists in the preparation, organization, and dissemination of class or conference schedules, course descriptions, outlines, syllabus, and other similar materials through close coordination with faculty. Maintains timelines by assuring accurate and timely documentation and appropriate and timely communication among all stakeholders. * Performs other related duties as assigned. *Education:*Bachelor's degree. *Experience:*Prior related administrative experience in which program coordination is the primary responsibility. *Other*: Clery act designated job as campus security authorities (CSA) member and will comply with Clery Act requirements. Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted. *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES* Possess a thorough knowledge of academic program and requirements and able to perform the position in compliance with all requirements/regulations/laws. Maintain high standards with the work being performed and maintain awareness with trends and influences. Assume personal responsibility for all outcomes; make effective and timely decisions; and learns how to effectively use technology. Maintain productivity and use knowledge strategies to increase knowledge base. Able to make independent decisions that are a matter of significance for the unit. Effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Write and present information in a clear and concise way. Interpret and understand written information and is able to listen attentively to verbal and non-verbal cues that lead to a deeper understanding. Work cooperatively with others and demonstrates professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous behavior when interacting with others. Demonstrate pleasant and positive interactions with others to meet customer expectations and provide follow-up with customers. *Hiring Range:*$52,000-$55,000, commensurate with education and experience.
