Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager reports directly to the Director of Accounting and is responsible for the overall management and oversight of one of the Corporate Accounting teams. The Corporate Accounting area encompasses the accounting of all aspects of the general ledger with the exception of the revenue and revenue-related accounts. This includes all assets, liability, equity, compensation and benefit-related accounts and SG&A. Management responsibilities include day-to-day accounting and monthly/quarterly/annual close processes, with deliverables to management and external auditors. This individual will also drive process improvements and identify areas to establish best practices across the department.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
• Review the work of staff and/or senior accountant(s), and provide direction, leadership and professional development.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
• Prepare quantitative and qualitative analytical reviews. Review detailed journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Coordinate with the Director of Accounting in preparation of deliverables for internal reviews, quarterly reviews, and year-end audits.
• Proactively seek out and offer up ideas for system efficiencies and business practices improvements.
• Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of finance or with other departments inside and outside the Controller’s organization.
• Take personal responsibility for compliance with internal controls under his/her responsibility as documented in connection with SOX procedures.
• Work with internal customers (such as operations team members) and external customers to resolve discrepancies. Manage responsibilities in order to meet deadlines
• Special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
• B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Two to three years accounting supervisory experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular advanced Excel skills
Nice to have:
• CPA
• Two to three years’ experience in a public accounting firm
• Blackline experience
• Exposure to Alteryx and Workday Financial ERP system
• ASC 842 Lease Accounting/ProLease experience
