Job Title: Marine Welder
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Marine Welder to join our team in Bremerton. You will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal components used in the construction and repair of ships. This role demands a high level of precision, attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
+ Perform various welding techniques, including Stick and Flux, to join metal components according to blueprints and specifications. Experience with Stainless Steel is a plus.
+ Cut, shape, and assemble metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
+ Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
+ Maintain and repair welding equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
+ Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
+ Collaborate closely with other trades, such as pipefitters, electricians, and shipfitters, to ensure seamless project execution.
+ Keep accurate records of work performed, including materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience as a welder, preferably in a shipyard or marine environment.
+ Proficiency in various welding techniques and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
+ Completion of a welding apprenticeship program is preferred.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.50 - $33.50/hr.
