    Job Title: Automation Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team in a dynamic food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading production equipment, as well as installing and testing new machinery. This role requires a proactive individual who is committed to continuous improvement and safe workplace practices.

    Responsibilities

    + Participate in and direct troubleshooting activities in the event of equipment failure, including failure analysis, problem solving, and prevention.

    + Collaborate with the production team to make informed decisions and troubleshoot systems, providing investigation, analysis, testing, and follow-up.

    + Maintain, test, and upgrade all production equipment, and install new food manufacturing, packaging, and processing equipment.

    + Interface with machine tools, special equipment, or test modules, troubleshoot electrical or electronics failures, and modify machines to improve or update them.

    + Perform preventative maintenance and repair, as well as planned mechanical maintenance duties.

    + Contribute to a continuous improvement culture while adhering to safe workplace practices.

    + Develop positive and respectful interactions with managers, supervisors, maintenance technicians, and machine operators.

    + Perform other duties as required by supervisor or manager.

    Essential Skills

    + Three or more years of experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance.

    + Proficiency in PLCs and electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair.

    + Ability to use RS Logix 5000, RS Logix 500, or RS Logix 5 software for machine troubleshooting.

    + Capability to go online with Control Logix, Compact Logix, SLC500, or PLC5 using Ethernet I/P, DH+, or RS232.

    + Ability to download PLC programs as necessary.

    + Competency in reading and understanding electrical schematics.

    + Experience using a multimeter and working in control panels with up to 480VAC.

    + Understanding of symbols on P&ID’s and tag references on line layout drawings.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to replace and configure AB Powerflex 40, 400, and 525 VFDs, and Yaskawa V1000 and P1000 VFDs.

    + Experience with Panelbuilder 32 and RS View Studio Machine Edition for downloading applications.

    + Physical capability to lift and/or carry up to 100 pounds occasionally.

    + Ability to push and/or pull up to 25 pounds.

    + Capability to stand and/or walk for extended periods on concrete surfaces.

    + Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, reach, climb, and stoop throughout the shift.

    + Vision abilities to include proximate vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
