Hiring Range : Flat rate $50.00/hour

The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities:

+ Provide timely, compassionate, patient-centered care in a private setting that provides emotional support and reduces further trauma to the patient.

+ Provide quality medical care to the patient who reports sexual assault, including evaluation, treatment, referral and follow-up.

+ Ensure the quality of collection, documentation, preservation and custody of forensic evidence by utilizing a trained New York Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner to perform the sexual assault medical forensic exam. Utilize an interdisciplinary approach by working with the local rape crisis program, law enforcement, prosecutors, and other necessary serve providers to effectively meet the needs of the sexual assault victim and the community.

+ Provide expert testimony when needed if the patient chooses to report the crime to law enforcement. Improve and standardize data regarding the incidence of sexual assault victims seeking treatment in hospital emergency departments

+ · Communicates with Law enforcement if patient desires/ situation necessitates

Education, Training & Experience:

+ Graduate of a degree program, meeting the requirements set forth by Office of Professions (RN,NP,or PA). Minimum of one (1) year of experience within your licensed credential.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Required Credential(s):

+ Certifications / Licensure: Current Licensed professional in State of New York, (Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant). DOH-Certified SAFE Training required within six (6) months of hire date.

Complexity of Work: • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Personal Protective Equipment: • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
