Performing general warehouse activities including: (1) accurately receiving and unloading trailers, physical breakdown of merchandise, building and stretch wrapping of pallets; (2) shuttling merchandise from receiving to shipping, laydown and storage areas; (3) loading of product into shipping trailers; (4) coordinating inbound and outbound storage freight; (5) sorting and distributing pallets to be utilized within the warehouse; (6) using hand held units to verify merchandise being distributed; and (7) operating powered equipment including: forklift, pallet jack, tugger and clamp attachments

Responsibilities

+ General warehouse duties to support laydown, receiving, crossdock, shipping, pallets, storage and QA areas of the distribution center. Ability to operate forklift and other powered equipment essential to the position.

+ Consult with the shift supervisor and/or department lead to determine daily work assignments based on volume. Communicate among peers. Adjust work assignments as directed by supervisor and/or lead when needed.

+ Work with new hires and temporary associates on the proper procedures for handling freight safely.

+ Systemic control of all products through the use of the Warehouse Management System (WMS). Ensure all pallet movements are scanned in and out of location maintaining an accurate audit trail.

+ Maintain a safe and professional work environment.

+ Display good communication skills and ability to work well with others.

+ Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.

+ Maintains all Distribution Center policies and procedures

+ Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.

+ Available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Qualifications

+ Bilingual preferred, English fluency required

+ Previous power equipment experience preferred

+ Basic computer and data entry skills

+ At least 18 years of age.

+ Preferred high school diploma or equivalent

Environmental Job Conditions

+ Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects greater than 30 pounds with assistance.

+ Located in an environment with exposure to changing temperatures, including heat and cold, noise and dust.

+ Perform repetitive, dexterous movements related to computer use and data entry

+ When needed stand, sit, bend, twist, lift for up to 8 hours a day

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $20.50-$24.63.
