    THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Houtzdale is seeking Corrections Stock Clerks to join our staff. If you like to maintain inventory and manage efficient warehouse operations, then we want to talk to you! We encourage you to submit an application today!

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Corrections Stock Clerk, you will handle the receipt, storage, distribution, and inventory control activities for a variety of stock items and supplies within the warehouse and commissary areas at SCI Houtzdale. You will inventory stock, receive and store supplies, and issue raw materials. You will also oversee inmates in a variety of inventory control activities, provide inmate performance progress reports, and ensure the security of the work area . This role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail to properly issue and control inventory as well as a genuine desire to help inmates learn the standard principles and practices of storeroom operations. In addition, you will p repare routine reports, order warehouse and office supplies, and operate motor vehicles, fork lifts, or hand trucks to move items and make deliveries.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment, 40 hours per week

    + Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

    + This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

    + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $43,543.00 (before taxes).

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience; or

    + An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Special Requirements:

    + You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.

    Additional Requirements:

    + Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

    + You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    + You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
