    Bank OZK (Little Rock, AR)


    Job Purpose & Scope

     

    Performs financial, regulatory, and general accounting/reporting functions and control processes.

     

    Essential Job Functions

     

    + Accounts for and maintains one or more of the following: property, plant, and equipment, including cost segregation models; bank owned life insurance; intangible assets; prepaid/other assets; borrowings; other liabilities; recording payroll transactions; and intercompany overhead allocations.

    + Provides schedules and data required for the Bank’s income tax return related to areas of responsibility.

    + Prepares, records, and reviews various month-end journal entries and other general ledger maintenance/analysis.

    + Reconciles general ledger and checking accounts.

    + Prepares internal control risk assessments and documents, and tests internal controls for SOX 404 and internal enterprise risk management requirements.

    + Assists with the preparation of various regulatory filings (call report, 10-Q/10-K, HUD, etc.).

    + Collaborates with others on the Finance team on budget preparation, reporting and analysis, as needed.

    + Contributes to the annual financial statement audit.

    + Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

    + Knowledge of current generally accepted accounting principles, rules, and regulations.

    + Ability to perform accurate financial analysis and mathematical computations.

    + Ability to work independently without close supervision.

    + Ability to collect, analyze, and research complex, diverse data.

    + Ability to maintain confidentiality and utilize discretion and sound judgment in decision-making.

    + Ability to develop project plans.

    + Ability to demonstrate effective organization, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

    + Ability to adapt well to change, feedback, and business needs to reach a goal.

    + Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.

    + Skill in computer with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

    Basic Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field, or commensurate work experience required. MBA or equivalent advanced degree, preferred.

    + 3+ years of work experience in public accounting or corporate finance related role, required.

    + Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, required.

    + Certified Public Accountant designation, preferred.
