    Job Description:

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Patient Care Assistant completes patient care and Appointment Coordinator functions in addition to assisting a designated area with setting goals and ensuring best practice. This individual may assist with referral dispositions to ensure provider referrals are handled appropriately. The Patient Care Assistant will provide day-to-day coordination of a specific area to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the operational functions of the area.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION

    _For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._

     

    **Minimum Required:** High school diploma or equivalent.

    **Preferred/Optional:** Diploma or Associate degree in a health care related field.

    EXPERIENCE

    **Minimum Required:** Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Keyboard, computer, and telephone proficiency.

    **Preferred/Optional:** Experience with customer service in a health care related field.

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

    _The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position._

     

    **Minimum Required:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within six months of hire.

    **Preferred/Optional:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
