    Job Description

    The Sr. Packaging Technician is responsible for overseeing and executing advanced packaging processes to ensure efficient, high-quality, and compliant production operations. This role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex packaging equipment and leading process improvements. The Sr. Packaging Technician ensures adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards while meeting production goals.

     

    This position reports to the Product Manager and is based out of our Lonoke, Arkansas office

    What you’ll do:

    + Perform hands-on packaging tasks in both lab and warehouse settings.

    + Troubleshoot and correct packaging related process issues with equipment, consumables, and software.

    + Conduct POP (Performance Orientated Packaging) Testing for packaging for UN/DOT Regulations.

    + Prepare test results report for POP testing

    + Manage Process Record information, update in SharePoint

    + Create pallet patterns using CAPE Software.

    + Set-up and maintain barcode scanners.

    + Create and manage all shipping case label information/formats using EasyLabel Software.

    + Create and manage carton printing databases and negatives.

    + Update/maintain the server-based New Product/Packaging Development Spreadsheet.

    + Pull packaging samples from warehouse to provide to marketing and key customers.

    + Work with the Packaging Engineer and vendors in the development of new packaging structures.

    + Confer with engineers or production personnel to resolve packaging related problems when necessary.

    + Operate and troubleshoot advanced packaging machinery, such as automated fillers, sealers, labelers, and palletizers, to package products according to specifications.

    Experience you bring:

    + Degree in Packaging Design, Graphic Design, or related field preferred. *Will consider candidates with equivalent experience in lieu of degree

    + 3–5 years of experience in a packaging technician or similar role within a manufacturing or production environment.

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in a lab and warehouse setting.

    + Proficiency in operating and maintaining automated packaging equipment

    + Must have experience with: CAPE, MAX (Microsoft Access) (or similar ERP Manufacturing Software), EasyLabel (or similar like, Bartender), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SharePoint

    + Ability to work with personnel across multiple value streams and locations

    + Ability to work independently without continual supervision

    + Problem-Solving: Strong ability to troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues quickly and effectively.

    You might have:

    + Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, or CorelDRAW.

    + Knowledge of PLC systems, pneumatics, or robotics is a plus.

    Work Environment:

    Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

    Pay Range:

    $24.81 - $34.71

     

    The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
