Job Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
+ Integrate simulation-based learning into didactic and clinical phases of the PA curriculum.
+ Design and deliver realistic scenarios aligned with core competencies and learning objectives.
Simulation Management:
+ Collaborate with IT, program faculty and CHST leadership to plan installation of new Laerdal simulation equipment.
+ Oversee daily operations of the simulation lab, including scheduling, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
+ Coordinate and facilitate simulation sessions, including high-fidelity manikin use, task trainers, and standardized patient encounters.
Faculty & Staff Collaboration:
+ Develop faculty training related to the development and utilization of simulation scenarios.
+ Identify opportunities to integrate simulation learning across the program.
+ Train and support faculty in simulation pedagogy, debriefing techniques, and assessment tools.
+ Work with interprofessional teams to coordinate multidisciplinary simulations.
Assessment & Evaluation:
+ Develop tools to assess student performance during simulation activities.
+ Collect and analyze data to evaluate simulation effectiveness and outcomes.
+ Implement quality improvement initiatives based on feedback and assessment results.
Administrative Duties:
+ Manage simulation center resource allocation and accreditation documentation.
+ Stay current with best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in healthcare simulation.
Future Growth
+ Expansion of simulation learning across CHST as prioritized by Department Head, including Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program, Nutrition, Nursing and Physical Therapy Doctoral Program.

Required Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree required (MSPAS, MSN, or related health sciences field); doctoral degree preferred.
+ Certification in simulation education (e.g. CHSE) preferred.
+ Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in healthcare (PA, RN, MD, etc.).
+ Prior experience in simulation-based education or healthcare education required.
+ Experience with simulation technologies, software (e.g., Laerdal, CAE), and AV systems is a plus.
+ Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
+ Proficiency in scenario writing, debriefing, and learner assessment.
+ Ability to collaborate across departments and disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications:

Job Summary:
The Simulation Director will oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of simulation-based education for the Physician Assistant program and in future facilitate the development of simulation learning across CHST. This role is responsible for enhancing student learning through high-fidelity simulations, standardized patient encounters, clinical skills training, and interprofessional education experiences. The director collaborates with faculty, staff, and clinical partners to ensure simulation activities align with standard of care, program goals and accreditation standards.
