Quality Engineer

Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, this role is responsible for maintaining internal and external quality within the assigned area of responsibility (cells, value streams). While primarily focused on internal product quality, the Quality Engineer also supports new product development by owning quality-related project tasks and managing projects up to series release. This position organizes and conducts internal process and product audits, driving continuous improvements in product quality and quality management standards. Additionally, it tracks and manages supplier quality to ensure compliance and performance. This position is onsite.
Primary Responsibilities
+ Generate and report quality KPIs (both internal and external).
+ Plan and execute internal process and product audits.
+ Define and implement corrective actions from internal audits, ensuring timely resolution.
+ Manage and conduct external audits as required.
+ Represent quality management interests in project teams.
+ Develop and maintain quality plans for both existing and new products in collaboration with operations and project teams.
+ Participate in the creation of qualification test matrices for product launches.
+ Lead or support pilot runs and follow up on resulting action items.
+ Oversee product releases and serial releases, including PAPP submissions when requested by customers.
+ Lead and coordinate efforts to resolve quality issues, including customer call-backs, supplier reclamations, and significant production concerns.
+ Plan and conduct in-process quality control tests, aligning actions with operations leadership and ensuring follow-up.
+ Validate and approve supplier First Article Inspections (FAIs).
+ Diagnose customer reclamations, define corrective actions, and manage reporting using structured formats such as 8D reports.
+ Validate and maintain testing equipment in collaboration with the Industrial Engineering team.
+ Supervise Quality Technicians, managing their schedules, performance, and professional development.
+ Assist Supply Chain in developing and executing processes for qualifying new suppliers and managing high-risk suppliers.
+ Contribute to the development of DFMEA and PFMEA for manufacturing processes and new products.
+ Provide quality leadership within manufacturing to ensure customer expectations and quality standards are met.
+ Develop and support APQP and ISIR processes for manufacturing.
+ Assist in completing and closing product non-conformance reports.
+ Document root cause analyses and corrective actions for customer complaints involving supplier non-conformances.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
+ Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a technical discipline; an engineering degree from a four-year university is preferred.
Required Experience
+ 3-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Strong complex problem-solving skills.
+ Experience managing technical personnel and overseeing complex activities.
Desired Experience
+ 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering or a closely related field.
+ Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and related processes.
+ Ability to simplify complex information and prepare executive summaries.
+ Proven ability to prioritize tasks and effectively communicate workload.
+ Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Lean Manufacturing experience is required.

Pay Range
The salary range for this position in local currency is 81200.00 - 150800.00
