What You Will Do

- JOB SUMMARY

This new role in the Company is a unique opportunity with a large, complex global organization. While the focus of the position is U.S. direct and indirect tax matters, this role will be an integral part of the global tax team.

- WHAT YOU WILL DO

+ Support direct and indirect tax compliance by managing foreign based shared service center resources and 3rd party preparer

+ Review indirect tax returns (e.g. sales/use, state tobacco excise, property, and unclaimed property reports

+ Prepare/review tax accounting calculations, uncertain tax positions, and journal entries

+ Support direct and indirect state tax audits

+ Address notices/inquires with various tax authorities

+ Assist with the preparation and filing of state tobacco license applications

+ Ensure adherence to internal control requirements, including preparing and maintaining documentation to support testing procedures

+ Assistance with special projects including federal and state planning and credits and incentives

+ Transfer pricing support for intercompany financing, royalty arrangements and other cross‐border activities

Qualifications

- REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting required, Master’s degree preferred

+ CPA designation or progress towards certification

+ Four to nine years of experience in public accounting and/or a large corporate tax department, preferable with exposure to international operations

+ Deep understanding of tax accounting and U.S./State/Foreign direct and indirect tax laws and concepts

+ Exposure to inbound tax issues and transfer pricing requirements, in particular financing transactions

+ Strong command of financial accounting and related concepts

+ Effective written and verbal communication and time management skills

+ Proficient with SAP, MS office and data management skills
