    Grinding Operator I

    As a Grinding Operator I, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

     

    + Read and use basic measuring devices (micrometer, calipers, protractors, and etc.) to ensure product meets specifications.

    + Performs basic grinding and hardness testing on a variety of wheel specs

    + Performs grinding, hardness testing, and gluing for all wheel types with guidance; requires sign-off by supervisor or designer.

    + Work from blueprints to complete all steps of operation and perform setup on machine for surface and Outside Diameter (OD) grinding without assistance

    + Read and perform operations on basic core print and recognize the difference in the core material

     

    Your Skills and Expertise

    To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

    + Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

    + Work First shift (6AM –4:30PM, Monday - Thursday), working weekends, overtime, and/or short notice shift coverage

    Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

    + Ability to use basic measuring devices (micrometer, calipers, protractors, and etc.) to ensure product meets specifications.

    + Previous production and inspection experience

    + Possesses basic mathematical skills with ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

    + Possess basic computer skills.
