Job Description:
Schnabel Engineering is currently seeking a full-time, experienced Resident Project Representative (RPR) to support solid waste and heavy civil development projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic, including VIRGINIA, NORTH CAROLINA, and MARYLAND.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Key member of the on-site Construction Management / Quality Assurance and Quality Control team.
+ Successfully interface with Owners, Design Engineers, and Contractors.
+ Manages and coordinates staffing coverage for multiple concurrent project sites.
+ Mentors field technicians in regards to CQA field responsibilities and execution methods used to support construction of solid waste disposal facilities, heavy civil development projects, and regulatory certification requirements.
+ Reviews and prepares daily field reports (DFRs).
+ Observes and documents Contractor’s construction progress and material installations for conformance with the Contract Documents, approved submittals, and applicable permit requirements.
+ Performs quality assurance activities and monitors Contractor’s quality control. Develops and maintains Quality Control logs documenting dates, locations, tests, and results.
+ Tracks Contractor’s physical progress, production, and schedule.
+ Assists in the review of technical submittals and substitution requests.
Required Skills/Experience:
+ 5+ years of relevant experience in landfill and/or heavy civil construction, including Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) of geomembrane liners.
+ Construction inspection experience on projects involving earthwork, cast-in-place concrete, geosynthetics installation, and pipe and utility systems including High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) fusion welded pipe and materials.
+ Knowledgeable in the procedures for Construction Materials Testing (CMT) of soils, concrete and geosynthetics, including interpreting results of field and laboratory tests.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills.
+ Demonstrated collaborative approach to construction contract management.
+ Ability to work in remote locations and on rough terrain.
Other Requirements:
+ Position may require travel to project sites throughout the United States.
+ Ability to work legally in the United States.
+ Ability to pass a background check, which may include criminal history and motor vehicle records.
+ Ability to pass a pre-employment employment drug screening.
+ Ability to lift and carry construction materials and equipment up to 60 pounds.
+ Ability to navigate heavy civil construction job sites with rugged terrain and stand for extended periods of time outside and in inclement weather if necessary.
+ Ability to climb ladders that may extend to lengths of 25 feet.
+ Work in accordance with OSHA safety standards to maintain regulatory compliance
Preferred Requirements:
+ OSHA 30-hour safety course.
+ VDOT soils and aggregate compaction testing.
+ Geomembrane liner testing certification.
+ Experience managing, leading, and coordinating a team of field technicians.
+ Minimum Associates Degree in Construction Management or a science based program or equivalent field experience.
The compensation range for this position is between $85,000 to $95,000. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
