    Job Description

    The HR Leave Management Specialist is responsible for administering employee leave programs in compliance with company policies, federal and state laws, and third-party administrator processes. This role ensures accurate tracking of leave eligibility, manages communication with employees and managers, and coordinates with payroll to ensure proper compensation during leave periods.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Administer and track employee leaves of absence, including eligibility, duration, and required documentation (e.g., medical certifications).

     

    - Serve as the liaison with third-party leave administrators (e.g., Matrix).

     

    - Communicate leave policies and procedures clearly to employees and managers.

     

    - Interpret and apply federal, state, and company leave policies and laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA).

     

    - Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate leave-related compensation.

     

    - Perform data entry and maintain accurate leave records, including some manual processes.

     

    - Provide timely updates and guidance to employees and managers throughout the leave process.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - 2-3 years of HR experience w/ leave of absence administration

     

    - Proficiency in leave laws and compliance (FMLA. CFRA, ADA, workers' compensation)

     

    - Experience with Workday (payroll, leave management, workflow)

     

    - third party leave management system experience (ex. matrix)

     

    - high volume leave management (100+) - Matrix experience

     

    - Payroll experience

     

    - Bachelor's degree

    - Direct ADA experience null
