Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to join their IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), public cloud platforms (Azure and AWS), and a working knowledge of security practices with a focus on user identity and access management (IAM).

This role will be pivotal in managing their hybrid cloud infrastructure and ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable systems to support business operations.

Design, deploy, and manage virtualized environments using VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.

Architect, implement, and support cloud infrastructure in Azure and AWS, including IaaS, PaaS, and storage solutions.

Maintain and improve security practices across virtualized and cloud environments.

Collaborate with the InfoSec team to enforce identity and access management (IAM) policies and role-based access controls.

Implement automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) where applicable (e.g., using Terraform, PowerShell, ARM templates).

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.

Assist in audits, compliance, and governance efforts related to cloud and virtual environments.

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of hands-on experience with VMware, vSphere and/or Hyper-V- in a virtualization platform

3+ years of experience working with Cloud, Azure and AWS infrastructure.

Working knowledge of identity and access management principles (Azure AD, AWS IAM, SSO, MFA, etc.).

Understanding of network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, NSGs, security groups).

Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions Certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar

Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.)

Experience with backup recovery solutions null
