Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Senior Software Engineer to join their dynamic development team of 3 people. The ideal candidate will have 68 years of hands-on experience in building scalable, enterprise-grade applications using Java EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, MySQL, and Angular. Experience with Microservices architecture and cloud platforms (preferably Azure) is essential. You should be comfortable working independently on medium to complex tasks and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as SRE teams for infrastructure changes. This team supports a product that digitizes vehicle crash reports and collects the data from those reports to sell to 3rd parties, police agencies, and insurance carriers. This agile team is handling the maintenance, backlog, and new enhancement requests of the product described above. The ideal candidate will be converted to an FTE after 6 months on contract and will work 1X/week onsite in Alpharetta, GA. The pay range for this role ranges from $50-60/hour.

Skills and Requirements

68 years of professional experience in software development.

30% Angular, 70% Java

Strong proficiency in Java EE, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.

Solid experience with MySQL and database design principles.

Proficient in Angular (version 8 or above).

Experience with Microservices architecture and RESTful API development.

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Github Actions

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex tasks.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.

Knowledge of security best practices in web and cloud applications.
