Job Description
A healthcare insurance client is looking for a GCP Cloud Engineer to join their team remotely. This resource will serve as an individual contributor on the Data Transformation & Insights Tools team, focusing on a wide range of cloud solutioning initiatives. This role involves supporting and enhancing enablement features for Data and Analytics tools within Google Cloud. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Layer 2 and 3 networking fundamentalsincluding TCP/IP, routing, subnetting, port mapping, firewalls, load balancing, and protocolsas well as experience with virtualization technologies such as containers, virtual machines, and Kubernetes (including Helm). Proficiency in basic Linux administration, including remote access, package and service management, and scripting, is essential. The role also requires familiarity with database administration tasks like schema and user management and replication, as well as knowledge of disaster recovery practices such as backups and failover. Experience with DevOps deployments is a plus. The successful candidate will be a fast, self-motivated learner who thrives on challenges and continuous learning. Responsibilities also include creating clear and concise documentation, help guides, newsletters, and wiki pages, and publishing work on Confluence.

Skills and Requirements
5+ years of experience as a GCP Cloud Engineer
Experience in cloud networking including layer 2 & 3 fundamentals, firewalls, load balancing, and cloud platforms
Experience with virtualization and containerization including Kubernetes, Helm, and related orchestration tools
Experience with Linux and overall database administration including database management
Understanding of DevOps practices and tools including disaster recovery strategies Experience with Python, Terraform, Github
Google Cloud Associate or Professional Certification null
