Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and organized Logistics Manager to lead and oversee outbound logistics operations across Echelon's distribution network. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective shipments, enforcing the use of standardized tools and procedures, and aligning shipping practices across all Echelon sites. The ideal candidate will also work closely with third-party logistics partners to continuously improve service levels and reduce costs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Oversee daily outbound shipping operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with customer requirements.
+ Enforce consistent use of departmental tools, shipping systems, and procedures to maintain standard operating practices across all sites.
+ Collaborate with site leads to align and standardize shipping processes across multiple Echelon locations.
+ Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards in shipping operations.
+ Continuously evaluate and improve shipping performance, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.
+ Develop and maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), freight carriers, and delivery services.
+ Negotiate shipping contracts and resolve service issues or disputes with logistics partners.
+ Train, supervise, and develop shipping department personnel to meet operational goals and performance standards.
+ Track KPIs and generate performance reports on shipping accuracy, cost, and carrier service levels.
+ Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to streamline logistics operations.
+ Collaborate with Procurement, Sales, and Inventory teams to align logistics operations with business objectives and customer commitments.
+ Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to drive decision-making and identify trends in shipping performance and costs.
+ Manage departmental budget for outbound logistics, tracking spend against targets and identifying savings opportunities.
+ Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and professional development within the logistics team.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
+ 5+ years of experience in shipping, distribution, or logistics management, preferably in a multi-site environment.
+ Proven leadership and team management experience.
+ Experience working with ERP and shipping software tools (e.g., Epicor P21, FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip).
+ Strong knowledge of freight and logistics operations, shipping regulations, and industry best practices.
