    Job Details

    AVI Foodsystems is seeking an energetic Cook 2 to join our culinary team at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, located at 3400 Spruce Street in University City, Philadelphia, PA. The Cook 2 is responsible for meal preparation, cooking and serving for patients and guests at the hospital.

     

    Part time positions are available; now hiring for all shifts!

     

    Pay begins at $19.49/hour; you will receive $0.50 increase after 6 months of employment and another $0.50 increase after 1 year of employment!     + Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and hot catering meals

    + Preparation of other food items directed by Chef or Manager

    + Ability to read and produce basic recipes, with supervision, in accordance with company standards

    + Follow all HACCP rules for food production / storage

    + Ensure and maintain proper sanitation of the kitchen

    + Use of proper portioning and dietary guidelines

    + Assist in restocking and clean-up of the kitchen and serving line at the end of the service period

    + Check out with shift supervisor 20 minutes prior to leaving each day

    + Other duties as required and assigned

    + Strong work ethic

    + Eager and dedicated to learn and progress as a cook

    + ServSafe certification is a plus

    + Dedication to working safely in a busy environment

    + Proven ability to work at a steady pace for a full eight-hour shift

    + Excellent communication skills

    + Basic food knowledge

    + Ability to maintain a positive attitude

    + Ability to maintain a high standard of personal hygiene
