    Motor Pool Mechanic

    Do you have a knack for diagnosing engine problems before they turn into headaches? Can you weld, troubleshoot, and wrench your way through anything from a diesel engine to a hydraulic lift? If you're a hands-on mechanic who takes pride in doing the job right, we want you on our team at Trident Maritime Systems – Custom Alloy Division.

     

    As a Motor Pool Mechanic, you’ll be part of the crew that keeps our fleet and equipment in top shape, ensuring our operations run safely and smoothly. This is a role for someone who loves variety, isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty, and thrives on fixing what others can't.

     

    What You'll Be Working On

     

    + Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and motorized equipment

    + Diagnosing mechanical problems and taking the lead on corrective action

    + Reading repair manuals and following technical instructions

    + Welding, fabricating, and modifying parts as needed

    + Operating lifts, scissor and bucket trucks, and other heavy shop equipment

    + Working independently while also supporting other departments when needed

    + Staying organized with accurate records and reports

    + Communicating effectively and respectfully across teams

     

    What Makes You a Great Fit

     

    + Experience with gas and diesel engines, plus general mechanical repairs

    + Skilled in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working under pressure

    + Comfortable using welding tools and fabricating custom parts

    + Able to operate and repair a range of equipment and machinery

    + Detail-oriented and safety-conscious

    + Familiar with lift trucks, scissor lifts, and similar equipment

    + High school diploma or trade school training in auto/diesel mechanics

    + Clean driver’s license required; CDL is a plus

    + Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a bonus

    + ASE or other professional certifications? We’d love that too.

     

    Work Environment & Physical Demands

     

    This is a hands-on job in a real-world environment. You may be standing, walking, kneeling, crawling, lifting up to 100 lbs, or working in hot/cold conditions. Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and focus adjustment. We provide training and tools to help you succeed, and we prioritize safety every step of the way.

    2nd shift 3:30 pm - 12:00 am +10% shift differential
