Description

We are looking for a skilled Tax Manager to join our team on a consulting basis in Foster City, California. This position involves overseeing the preparation and review of complex tax returns for various entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns, along with strong organizational and communication skills. This role is onsite 5 days/week. There is a path to partnership at the firm. Pay is up to $65/hr. Ideally you are an active California CPA. Start date is 8/15/2025. Please apply today!

Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed reviews of tax returns prepared by associates, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

• Organize and maintain comprehensive tax return work papers for efficient processing.

• Verify that all relevant tax data has been accurately entered into the system.

• Manage a portfolio of assigned clients, addressing their tax-related needs and inquiries.

• Prepare tax returns during periods of high demand or backlog.

• Route client tax returns through the review process, ensuring timely partner approval and sign-off.

• Collaborate with team members to address complex tax issues and provide solutions.

• Utilize Lacerte Tax Software for efficient tax preparation and review.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and multi-state tax regulations.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and guidelines for diverse types of returns.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in tax preparation and at least 1 year in tax review.

• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and multi-state tax returns.

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with associates, clients, and partners.

• Hands-on experience with Lacerte Tax Software.

• Knowledge of complex partnership returns and pass-through entities such as S-Corps.

• Active California CPA highly preferred

• Familiarity with estate and trust tax returns is highly preferred.

• Solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations.
