Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This role requires an experienced individual with strong expertise in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and month-end close procedures. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved promptly.

• Conduct detailed balance sheet account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

• Manage the preparation and filing of sales tax returns in compliance with local and state regulations.

• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring all entries are accurate and deadlines are met.

• Generate and analyze financial statements, providing insights to support decision-making.

• Collaborate with internal teams to improve accounting processes and enhance efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in all financial activities.

• Assist in audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

• Monitor and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

• Train and mentor entry-level accounting staff, fostering growth and development.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related financial roles.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and balance sheet analysis.

• Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting.

• Demonstrated expertise in month-end close procedures.

• Advanced skills in financial statement preparation and analysis.

• Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate a plus
